“We are the stardust brought to life, then empowered by the universe to figure itself out …… and we have only just begun”
-Neil de Grass Tyson
Khushi means happiness and happiness is the only emotion tested that increases the sensation all over the body. It is this sensation that we seek everywhere, only to realize that it lies within us. For me, happiness is achieving small goals we set every day. It can be just a fitness regime that we try to follow to get into that cute little dress and when it finally fits you, you just can’t stop twirling. Boy oh boy, nothing can wipe that grin off your face! A cake turns out well for instance, when you take it out of the oven and you see that it has the perfect colour and sponginess, you feel over moon and can’t wait to share it with others. Sometimes you feel happy when you make others laugh, something you say makes them chuckle and you end up replaying it in your head many times ….. That’s real happiness. Small achievements often have greater impacts on life, what started with motivation to fit into a dress changes your lifestyle, you don’t stop there, you workout more to be fitter
These small goals not only bring happiness but also make us realize what exactly we want from our lives and many a times they show us the bigger picture. Here, I want to give an example of an extraordinary journey of a woman. You might have heard about her already, her name is Anna Todd. Yes, the same Anna Todd who became a wattpad sensation and later went on to become New York’s best-selling author. She started on wattpad as reader just like others, read many stories and got inspired to write one. She was not expecting much but she was excited about her story “After”. She started posting its chapters one by one, readers took notice of that and soon her book become hit on wattpad garnering more than hundred million reads. She wrote two more books in the series and they become even bigger hits. She got millions of fans around the world, her books got published and became New York’s best sellers. It didn’t stop there, paramount pictures bought its rights to turn it into movies. Now just imagine that, as a college girl she once visited San Francisco just to look at various options for college but everything was so expensive. So, she sat in her beat-up car and went back to her city. But today she owns a house in San Francisco …. It all starts with one simple step of realizing that something which brings happiness can change lives, can motivate us to work towards it and we gradually figure out where our future lies.
Gokhushi is all about things which bring us happiness, let it be fitness, food, fashion, technology, inspiring ideas and what not. We have to figure out a lot of things together and we have only just begun…….
