It’s a prerogative of every woman to look dapper in every function she attends, party she hosts or festivals she enjoys with family and friends. Since festive season, in India, is in loop and every Indian woman must have already started her pursuit for ethnic dresses that will suit different occasions, be it Rakshabandhan or Ganesh Chturthi or Diwali parties. Trust me, the struggle is legit.

Anarkali, voluminous maxi dresses, kurtis, sarees, lengans are festive favorites depending upon the occasion. From heavily embellished with gotta patti or zardozi work to beautiful prints or patterns in different fabrics, you have nth options to choose from. But style always precedes over fashion. You can be of any size,  if you style yourself wisely keeping in mind the type of body you have and the sort of outfit accentuates your plus points, you will always get noticed among the crowd.

Anarkali and maxi dresses are always your savior, be it a plus size woman or thin built, these work for everyone on every occasion. Always choose Anarkalis and maxi dresses which have gathers around umpire line instead of waist, it will effortlessly hide your tummy bulge or wide hips. Add cape instead of duppata to give a proper fusion look or you can wear these outfits without dupatta or cape.

Now a days many online stores have popped up, which offer ethnic wear, and are not only reasonable in price but also delivers quality product right at your door steps. There are certain brands which are my favorites and have not disappointed me till this date. BUNAAI, IDAHO, DOAN BY SWISH BOSS are few among the online stores which have wide range of ethnic collection, reasonably priced and something new and different to offer. Perfect addition to your stellar ethnic ensemble.

If you are medium built or petite lady then I would suggest, you should totally experiment with straight cut kurtas and palazzo with heavy duppatas. It can be satan or chanderi fabric or borcad for that matters. Kurtas can be paired with A line skirts or shararas too. Colours in contrast or same colour with contrast duppata.

High waist voluminous skirts and crop tops have revolutionized the whole lehnga scene in India. Beautiful prints are available in market for high waist skirts which can be paired with one bold colored crop top or vice versa. You can totally forgo dupatta with this outfit or add cape to crop top. High waist skirts can be paired with Satan tight fitted shirts too, giving it completely smart look.

Or do a complete 360 degrees, pick a beautiful saree and be a delicate darling. Saree never disappoints anyone. Again, any size or color find refugee in this widely worn, most favorite Indian attire. Over the period, different styles of draping this elegant 6 meter cloth have been evolved. You can spot different look with this attire like dhoti style, butterfly style, belted style, cocktail style etc. It takes elegance and grace to whole new level.

So dear ladies, you still have plenty of time to built a stand-and-stare ethnic wardrobe for coming festive season with styles and looks you are comfortable in and which highlights your personality.

See you at the party!
